The Minoan bee pendant dates back to the Bronze Age, to the Protopalatial Period (1800 -1700 BC)
The bee aspect of The Goddess was worshiped in Crete and across the then Known world. In Greece her priestesses were called Melissa.

I seem to bee one who is neither afraid of bees, nor swarmed by them although I've been unprotected among their hives. It is sad how they are being exploited. Our factory food system...ay yi yi.

Do our Autralians know that they export bees to the States because without their disease free bees the US could not pollinate many of their crops?

The Varroa destructor mite is a honey bee parasite that feeds much like a tick on the body of a bee. The mites are about the size of a pin head, dark brown in color and visible on close inspection."

Ticks and mites are proliferating worldwide, as they suck they inject disease into their hosts, including humans. I think one reason may be that the global use of pesticides causes the death of their predators. The Varroa mite has not yet got into Australia.

We've had infestations of that mite here. I've actually written about it, although long ago, so I'm not clear what the state of that is here now. I do know the system as described by Suzuki is standard. Poor little slave bees being shipped around from colony to colony and being worked to death.
